Rejuvenation of Plymouth’s Town Brook a model for regional river restoration
This spring, river herring in Town Brook — the waterway whose fish sustained the Pilgrims after the Mayflower landing at Plymouth Rock in 1620 — will be able to swim freely upstream for the first time in over 300 years. The restoration of Town Brook is a powerful demonstration of the positive impact of restoring local rivers to help migratory fish.

Plymouth's David Gould presented on the Town Brook restoration at the Westport Fishermen’s Association’s winter Oyster Stew Supper, where attendees learned how the lessons of Town Brook could be applied in Westport and throughout Buzzards Bay's rivers.
